Glass Handling Equipment for Specialty Windows

Wakefield Equipment has years of experience with window manufacturers who manufacture all different types of windows. We are well versed in the unique manufacturing constraints of each style of window and can recommend glass handling equipment specific to each manufacturing process. Our glass handling equipment can turn a 2-man job into a 1-man job while improving safety, ergonomics, and efficiency.

Casement Window Manufacturing Equipment

Casement windows are hinged on one side and utilize a crank system to open and shut the window. Casement windows are often used in tight spaces, such as over a kitchen sink or other hard to reach spaces. Casement windows do not have bars in the middle of the window, providing a clear view of the outdoors and are often selected because of this feature. Manufacturing larger pieces of glass, however, comes with its own set of issues.

Casement window manufacturers turn to Wakefield Equipment to provide glass handling equipment, like our Casement Assembly Racks. Assembling the window is the most critical step of the process and the casement assembly rack makes the job considerably easier. The open back design helps prevent operator fatigue and provides an easy way to test your products. A pneumatic lift is often added, which can raise the window at the push of a button. This is especially useful when manufacturing oversized panels.

Bay Window Manufacturing Equipment

A bay window is a three sectioned window that protrudes outward. The center window is a picture window and on either side of the center window are side windows. Bay windows are usually angled and allow light to enter a space from three separate angles. More windows also mean more of a view!

When assembling bay windows, hydraulic scissor lift tables are a critical piece of equipment for glass manufacturers. The scissor lift table reduces the risk of injury from bending and lifting heavy glass lites. Wakefield’s scissor lift table is built to last with features like a solid stainless steel top, 2000lb capacity and Hydraulic Lifting from 12″ to 48″ in seconds.
