Copy Routers and End Milling Machines: A Time-Saving Investment

End milling machines are an important industrial tool for machining difficult to work with materials like PVC and metal. They can perform a vast number of functions ordinarily done by hand, thus speeding up and facilitating a faster and more efficient workflow. End milling machines are used to achieve a specific type of cut, including profile milling, tracer milling, face milling, and plunging.

End milling machines utilize pieces called end mills, which are used in a number of ways, including cutting blind holes or grooves, making holes in blocks of material, as well as cutting flat or beveled edges. End mills are made of carbide steel and are often coated with a layer of titanium nitrate to prevent sticking.  End mills are available in both single- and double-ended options.  They are considered extremely useful in that unlike a drill bit, end mills can cut in all directions.

The machine is equipped with a quick-release cutter stack holder making different applications on profiles quicker and easier. The cutting zone is fully guarded to protect the operator in all the machining operations. Wakefield’s end milling machine has both a pneumatic vertical and horizontal clamp.
